Children’s Petting Zoo

The ever-popular Petting Zoo will return to the V&A Waterfront this October, giving younger visitors the chance to cuddle up to their favourite furry friends. Situated outside the V&A Food Market, the Petting Zoo will be open to children of all ages.

College of Magic Spellbound Performance

Filled with grand illusion and theatrical wonders, let astonishment take over and the impossible become reality during the College of Magic’s Spellbound at the V&A Amphitheatre these school holidays. These thrilling magic and comedy experiences are suitable for the whole family, but remember: anything can happen during this magical performance!

PINOCCHIO at the Nassau Theatre

pinocchio PINOCCHIO is based on the original Carlo Collodi classic of the little wooden puppet who has to prove himself to be honest, trustworthy before he can become a real live boy, with help and guidance from Jiminy Cricket and the Blue Fairy. Follow Pinocchio and Gepetto on their adventures to Stromboli’s Puppet Theatre and inside a whale. Watch Pinocchio’s nose grow as he lies to Gepetto and see Jiminy Cricket magically turn into a life-size cricket. A fairytale classic for the whole family. Presented by the Lilliput Children’s Theatre Company and directed by Elton John Duffy.

Penguin Festival – 8 October in Simon’s Town 


Penguin Festival

The annual Penguin Festival will be held in Simon’s Town on 8 October at the Simon’s Town Navy Sports Field for a fun-filled family festival. The festivities will kick off with an African penguin release, that have been rehabilitated by SANCCOB at Seaforth beach at 10AM. Witness this incredibly moving experience as the penguins waddle back into the ocean and swim away to freedom. Afterwards, head to the Simon’s Town Navy Sports Field right next to the beach for the festivities including food trucks, kiddies rides and entertainment and fun marine education activities! A great day out for the whole family.

The Kids Zone will include mini soccer, puppet show, meet a real penguin, mini rides, inflatable obstacle course, face-painting, jumping castle, climbing wall, Zorb balls, etc.

There will be Live music, Edutainment/environmental talks, Exhibitions, Craft beer/wine tasting, Food trucks and Cooking demonstration by a SASSI Braai Ambassador

All proceeds go towards saving the endangered African penguin.
