Trendy Neighbourgoods Market at the Old Biscuit Mill

Located in a revamped Victorian warehouse in Woodstock this vibrant gourmet market brings to you over 100 specialty traders every Saturday from 9am – 2pm and is a platform for local farmers, organic merchants, grocers, bakers, butchers, artisan producers, entrepreneurs and craftsmen. You’ll know when you have arrived by the commotion in the road and the chaos to find parking.

A meeting place for trendy locals and boho types, and popular with visitors this bustling market is the place to be on a Saturday morning. You will be able to tell from the crowds how popular this market is so be sure to arrive early.

It can get a little hot and crowded in the food courtyard on a hot summer’s day so ensure to dress cool and be prepared to be patient as you order a scrumptious meal and find a table. It’s mostly a cash only affair so come prepared. There is an ATM if you forget although be prepared for another queue.

You can purchase farm fresh produce as well as organically grown goods in this organic, eco-friendly market where you know you are purchasing mother earths goodness. The selection of delicious treats to choose from is endless and you definitely won’t be leaving hungry. My husband was in heaven loving the opportunity to sample a variety of tasty dishes. I did find the selection of gluten free dishes limited but I did enjoy the most delicious seared tuna salad with a glass of champagne in hand. There is also a selection of boutique wines and micro breweries to sample.

You can browse or purchase interesting designer wear, leather good, arts and crafts from local designers in the stores on the opposite side of the food courtyard in the same complex. Here you will also find Espresso Lab Microroasters, one of my favourite coffee spots.

I would say it’s a little too crowded for me to bring the kids. Not much chance of getting around with a pram but there are some folk there with young ones. Babies are mostly in pouches. I definitely do not recommend a pram if you want to get around the food courtyard.

If you love a trendy gourmet food market with delicious organic treats and a lively atmosphere then you will love discovering this gem.
