I have a lot of favourite Wine Estates but there are a few that are extra special, all for very different reasons as they are all so unique in the experience they offer.
Vergelegen Wine Estate
Vergelgen is a world-class estate, an estate like no other, it is sure to captivate your heart with its breath-taking beauty, excellence and welcoming atmosphere. My family and I love an outing to this beautiful estate and easily spend the day exploring there and enjoying all that it has to offer. Lourensford Wine Estate
The magnificent Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West, nestled below the beautiful Helderberg and Hottentots Holland Mountains, is an outstanding wine estate to visit with the family with plenty of entertainment on offer. The Estate is welcoming to families ensuring our little ones are cared for by including them in all entertainment. If you are interested in a wine tasting the little ones can join in with a kid’s grape juice pairing. Millhouse Kitchen is a lovely, relaxed family restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a lovely, large garden for the little ones to play in with three natural wood jungle gyms. Marianne Wine Estate
The boutique winery Marianne Wine Estate in Stellenbosch is a hidden gem. It is a winery with distinction for the finer things with a French twist, it was a wonderful discovery. It is welcoming to families and on a sunny day you can sit out on the lawn in front of the tasting room to enjoy your wine tasting next to the kid’s jungle gym. To add to the French experience, you can play a game of Boules. The outstanding and charming Floreal Brasserie on the Marianne Wine Estate is the perfect setting for a relaxed lunch with little ones or a fine dining experience with your loved one. Tokara Wine Estate
The charming Tokara Delicatessen on the beautiful Tokara Wine Estate is a lovely child friendly Deli for a casual breakfast or lunch with the family with scenic views of the Simonsberg Mountains, olive groves and vineyards. For children they have a natural wood jungle gym, slide and sandpit in front of the restaurant so you watch the little ones at all times, and inside the restaurant and on the veranda they have baskets of toys for them to play with at the tables.

Vergenoegd Wine Estate
Vergenoegd Wine Estate is a fantastic family destination in the Stellenbosch Winelands. There is plenty of entertainment for kids and families to keep them busy, it is easy to linger here all day. Vergenoegd believe in good, old fashioned entertainment for the kids. Outdoor games, giant chalk boards, cookie decorating and, of course the Duck Parade, Duck Tour and feeding of the ducks. Warwick Wine Estate
Warwick Wine Estate is an outstanding family run wine estate, located in the beautiful Stellenbosch Winelands and the ultimate location for a Gourmet Picnic in the Winelands and the perfect place to relax with family or friends and ideal for children. Walking into Leopard’s Leap is a breath of fresh air with its beautiful, airy and light modern design. It is a wonderful space, beautifully designed with the modern world in mind. Situated in the stunning Franschhoek Valley with beautiful views through floor to ceiling glass windows that line the restaurant, this is the perfect space for a family lunch outing. Laborie Wine Estate
The beautiful Laborie estate is situated in the picturesque town of Paarl with Paarl Rock as the backdrop.
The modern tasting space, Taste at Laborie, is their renovated tasting room. Kids can join in on the tasting experience with a grape juice tasting on the spacious veranda. They serve a selection of wine pairing options, tapas, platters, pizza and a kids meal. Kid’s tables are located on the veranda with colouring in books and crayons. Across from the tasting veranda, a little distance away, is a jungle gym for the little ones, but it is across a farm road, but still in sight of the tasting area so more suitable for older children who can climb well. Harvest at Laborie is the estates highly acclaimed restaurant serving contemporary South African cuisine.
