The City Sightseeing Bus and Boat

The City Sightseeing Bus is a fantastic way to see the city and some of Cape Town’s iconic attractions, and great fun for the little ones. This red open top, double-decker bus provides a hop-on, hop-off service and has two routes for you to choose from:

Red Route – City Tour

The Red Route includes 11 great stops around the city and panoramic views of Cape Town from Table Mountain with an optional extra free Yellow Downtown Tour.

The circular Red Route departs from the V&A Waterfront travelling through the CBD to Table Mountain, onto Camps Bay and back to the V&A Waterfront via Sea Point. The tour takes approximately 90 minutes, without hopping off, and the bus leaves from Stop 1 outside the Two Oceans Aquarium.

If you would like to include a visit up Table Mountain remember to book your tickets online in advance to assist with queueing. When at Table Mountain there is a separate, and shorter, queue for ticket holders. This is extremely helpful with kids as the queue can be long in peak season or sunny days. Another great stop is Camps Bay where you can go to the beach, have an ice cream or lunch.

Include an optional extra free Yellow Downtown Tour if you would like to explore some historical landmarks in the CBD. This tour will take approximately an additional 30 minutes including 7 stops. You can hop on the Bus at Stop 5 (Tour Office) in the CBD.

FREE guided walks of the City are offered from the Tour Office in Long Street (stop 5). There are three options and the tours takes approximately 90 minutes.

Blue Route – Mini Peninsula Tour

The Blue Route includes a scenic drive to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden with 14 stops and an optional extra free Purple Wine Tour including wine farms in the Constantia Valley.

The circular Blue Route includes 14 stops departing from the V&A Waterfront driving up Long Street in the CBD, past the Mount Nelson Hotel, a scenic drive to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, the Constantia Winelands, Hout Bay, Camps Bay and Sea Point back to the V&A Waterfront. The tour takes approximately 2 hours 15 minutes. If you are travelling with kids hop off at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens andWorld of Birds, both are great fun for kids.

Include an optional extra free Purple Wine Tour including three Constantia Valley wine farms – Groot Constantia, Eagles’ Nest and Beau Constantia.
