The Cape Town Science Centre is a brilliant way for kids to experience Science in a fun, entertaining and educational environment with over 250 interactive exhibits and mind-boggling puzzles. There is so much to see and do your kids will be kept busy for hours having fun while being in a learning environment 🙂
My two boys, age 3 and 6, absolutely loved their outing to the Science Centre, and we easily spent 3 hours there, and could have stayed longer if it wasn’t for the little one getting tired. It was the 3 year old’s first visit to the Science Centre and it was a huge success. The 6 year old has been numerous times and loves it as much as the first time. The construction site is hugely popular with my boys, and all kids. They even have neon yellow reflective Murray and Roberts construction bibs for them to wear.
There are lots of displays to explore it is impossible for them to experience all in one visit, I feel kids would benefit visiting the centre as regularly as they are interested. As children’s minds are continuously developing I think each outing would bring a different, fun learning experience.
Every school holiday they run a school Holiday Programme. A full schedule is loaded onto their website at the start of each holiday. We went to the Science Show, usually on a 1pm and the boys where absolutely riveted. It was excellent and they did not stop talking about it all day 🙂
The iCafé serves refreshments, coffee, snacks and light meals.
The Science Centre provides world-class exhibits that are designed to increase our children’s skill and understanding of science, technology and mathematics as well as help people adjust to the rapidly changing technological environment, and empower them by improving their life skills. The centre stimulates curiosity, develops inquiring minds and creates positive, new experiences.
They offer science shows, hands-on workshops, holiday programmes, science camps, science theatre, travelling exhibitions, hands-on experiments, excursions, experiential driven programmes, Saturday learner enrichment school, robotic workshops and tournaments, chess workshops and tournaments, Science Out Loud popular science talks, maths and science exam preparation lessons, educator enrichment workshops and educator forums, computer courses, and mini exhibitions on topical science events.
