Hubby and I indulged into a scrumptiously lavish High Tea, appropriately named ‘Tea by the Sea’ at the stunning boutique five-star hotel, Twelve Apostles. Perched on the lower slopes of Table Mountain at the edge of a protected marine reserve, between Camps Bay and Hout Bay, the hotel offers spectacular ocean and mountain views that will leave you breathless.

Our Tea was served in The Leopard Bar and you can choose to sit inside or on the balcony. As we had the perfect sunny weather we opted for the balcony to stare and the insanely stunning view and soak up the spectacular view of the Twelve Apostles Mountain Range and the sparkling Atlantic Ocean and relax in the tranquil ambiance of the ocean.

High Tea is served on a beautiful oval cake platter, which felt very fitting to a nautical theme resembling a porthole with ocean views gleaming through. As we ordered one gluten free tea we were each served a platter, complete indulgence!! The Gluten Free platter was colourful and delicious, beautifully presented with the best Gluten Free scone I have ever tasted! Tasty sandwiches, a berry macaroon, strawberry terrine, chocolate brownie, chocolate mousse, coconut delights and a peanut butter slice. YUM!!

The regular High Tea platter was similar and consisted of a homemade freshly baked scone, a berry macaroon, a traditional Hertzog cookie, cheesecake, chocolate brownie, eclair, and finger sandwiches.

Each platter had the following sandwich’s: Smoked salmon trout and cream cheese; Chicken mayonnaise and Avocado; Egg mayonnaise; Cheese and tomato; Roast beef, horseradish and rocket sandwich. The tea is complimented with the finest selection of fragrant teas and coffees. As per our waiter’s recommendation we chose The Exclusive 12 Apostles Blend, a blend to merge the mountains and ocean, it was fruity and delicious.
A fantastic morning was spent at the Twelve Apostles indulging in sweet heaven, a beautiful time to relax and stare and the glorious sparkling ocean. It was idyllic.
