Galileo Open Air Cinema

The Galileo Open Air Cinema presents a magical movie experience of cinematic delights and breath-taking scenery under a canopy of stars. The Galileo is hosted at a variety of venues in the Mother City including the lush lawns at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the V&A Waterfront, Hillcrest Quarry and various venues in Cape Town and the Cape Winelands and see firm favourites, cult classics and many others. Cuddle up under the stars in a gorgeous setting in the Mother City with some tasty treats and popcorn.

Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts

The Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts are one of the best ways to spend your Sunday afternoons in Cape Town. Enjoy a chilled out Sunday afternoon session on the slopes of Table Mountain in the stunning botanical gardens with the best South African live music and some seriously big names such as Jimmy Nevis, Jeremy Loops, Mi Casa, Al Bairre, The Soil and more. The magnificent gardens provide the perfect backdrop and place to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. Pack a picnic basket and blanket and prepare for a perfect afternoon in the Mother City.

Paul Cluver Hope Concerts

Support the Thembalitsha Foundation and enjoy top tunes, theatre, comedy and cinema at the [email protected] Summer Festival in the Elgin Valley wine estate’s magical forest amphitheatre. This season’s line-up will no doubt keep patrons enthralled and is set to feature first-rate musical acts, including Karen Zoid, Elvis Blue, Watershed, and The Parlotones. Bring along a picnic, some cushions and blankets and make yourself comfortable for an outdoor experience like no other. All profits from the tickets sales will be donated to the Thembalitsha Foundation, a non-profit organisation that uplifts impoverished communities in the area.

Shimmy Submerged Sundays

The popular GOLDFISH Submerged Sunday’s are back this summer at Shimmy Beach Club with ten exclusive concerts. Submerged Sundays launches on the 27 November and runs for 10 weeks until 8 January 2017. Classically trained Jazz musicians David Poole and Dominic Peters, AKA Goldfish, infuse live instruments and vocals into their performances, creating celebrated combinations of organic and electronic music. In the same vein as electronic acts such as Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx and Massive Attack, their music blends House sounds with Jazz and African beats.

V&A Waterfront

Let loose, relax and enjoy good music at the V&A Waterfront this summer. The V&A Waterfront’s annual Summer Sessions returns to the Amphitheatre stage and will offer the best local musical talent this summer.

Vergenoegd Live Music Concerts

Vergenoegd will be hosting live summer concerts, every 1st Sunday of the month during the 2016/17 summer season, featuring some of South Africa’s best musicians. Get out of the city and enjoy a day with friends, family, delicious wine, bubbly and food – and of course great music – all set on the idyllic green lawns of one of Stellenbosch’s oldest wine estates!

Concerts begins from 12pm and end at 6pm. The music kicks off with an opening act at 2:30pm, with the headline act on stage at 4pm.

Cost: R120 per adult and R50 for under 12’s (there will be a dedicated kids’ area to keep the little ones entertained).

Table Mountain Sunset Special

The best way to enjoy a sunset in Cape Town is atop Table Mountain! Take advantage of the Sunset Special where tickets up the Cable Car are half price from 6pm. Experience summer’s longer days and balmy evenings and savour the best sunset in the world. You can purchase a sundowner drink in the Table Mountain cafe. This special is available from 1 November to 18 December 2016, and from 4 January until 28 February 2017.
