Laborie Wine Estate (Child-friendly)

The beautiful Laborie estate is situated in the picturesque town of Paarl with Paarl Rock as the backdrop. The huge granite rock is part of Paarl Mountain, meaning Pearl Mountain, and is the second largest rock in the world. Fairview

Fairview is a lovely wine farm to visit for a cheese and wine experience and the only place I know in the Winelands that offers this. You will be met on the way in by the cheeky goats in the Goat Tower who are definitely use to the limelight and play an important part of the day to day running of the farm. At the tasting room friendly staff will welcome you and assist with your tasting options. There is small charge that allows you to taste six or eight wines and sample all cheeses. Their cheeses are exceptional and innovative and my favourite is definitely the White Rock with Cranberries but they are all extremely tasty. Click here to read more

Spice Route (Child-friendly)

The Spice Route is an outstanding farm to visit offering a completely unique experience with a huge variety of entertainment to choose from. On arriving you will enter at the rustic tasting room where you can sample handcrafted award winning wines on the lawns and enjoy breathtaking views. They have three different dining venues to choose, each offering a different experience from fine dining to a more relaxed environment. On the farm you will also find a craft beer brewery, a chocolate maker, an art gallery, a Venetian-style glass blowing gallery, a distillery and a deli. Click here to read more

Under Oaks Wines (Child-friendly)

Under Oaks is a beautiful farm setting with picturesque views for you to savour as you spend a relaxed afternoon at this lovely location. They have award winning wines to taste and selection of wine pairing options. The very child friendly Pizzeria has an open lawn space in front of the restaurant with a jungle gym, swings and farm animals to keep the little ones entertained watching the cows and horses as they roam around. Click here to read more about Under Oaks
