- It is often windy in the summer months and the south easterly is cold so have a light jumper handy

- Table Mountain Cableway is weather dependant and will shut if it is too windy or poor visibility. Click here to check their website for updated information
- A great way to experience Table Mountain is at sunset when tickets are half price from 6pm. This special is available from 1 November – 18 December, and 4 January to the end of February
- South African’s ride free up the Table Mountain Cableway on their birthday if they are 18 and over and have a valid South African ID
- From 1 May to 31 October it is Cabelway Kidz Season and two kids under 18 ride free up the Cableway with the purchase of 1 return adult ticket
- Parking is limited on Table Mountain. If you are visiting in Peak Season I would consider using a Taxi, Uber, the Sightseeing Bus or MyCiTi Bus

- The City Sightseeing Boat is a great way to explore the Harbour. Departing from the dock outside the Two Oceans Aquarium at the V&A Waterfront every 20 minutes. Kids under 5 are free

- Bree Street in the CBD has an emerging design culture and a lively restaurant atmosphere
- Long Street in the CBD has a funky vibe. A great place to shop by day, and dine and party by night
- At the top of Long Street in the city CBD you will find over 100 year old Turkish Baths to soak your travel weary body; they alternate days for men and woman
- Capetonians are friendly people, happy to assist and most speak English
- Like most cities in the world be aware of your valuable possessions at all times
- Tipping is customary, around 10 -20%
- Car guards are located at most public car parking spaces, it is recommended to tip between R2 – R10, depending on location, time of day and length of stay
