The charming Deer Park Café is idyllically located on the scenic slopes of Table Mountain under our majestic mountain providing that spectacular view we love so much. The café has a trendy vibe to it with large windows creating a very light and airy space.
The café is located next to Rocklands Road public park making it ideal for families with a large, secure play park for the little ones to run wild. It is old school, reminding me of my youth, with those frighteningly high (for mom and dad that is) stand-alone metal slides (do you remember what I am talking about?). My kids absolutely loved it and it is super speedy so watch out mom and dad, they come flying down. There is also the old school metal jungle gym, and old school merry-go-round. There are also two wooden jungle gyms and two sets of swings. It’s a great play area and great location to hang out with the kids after your meal.
They serve a breakfast, lunch, cakes and dinner. If you are gluten free then you are in for a treat as they serve gluten free waffles. The breakfast menu covers all appetites from healthy options, the best eggs benedict to homemade bran muffins and French toast. They have a great children’s menu too including fruit salad, oats, muffins, croissant and scrambled eggs. Freshly squeezed juices are made to order and they make Nutella milkshakes.
The lunch menu is seasonal including traditional homemade burgers and appetising salads like chicken and cashew nut salad a firm favourite. The baker makes a selection of delicious cakes and portions are generous. The chicken, meat and eggs are all sourced from free-range farms.
This is a great, child friendly cafe to visit with the kids for a meal.
