Acrobranch is a fun, outdoor obstacle and activity course for kids, teenagers and adults that takes you through the Constantia Nek forest on swinging bridges, ziplines, Tarzan swings and treetop adventures. There are two courses dedicated to kids and one obstacle course for teenagers and adults.
My family and I spent a fun morning outdoors at Acrobranch in the Constantia Nek forest with our two boys, age 3 and 7. It was the three-year old’s first time on the the Yellow Acro-twigs obstacle course and he absolutely loved it (the course is only suitable from age 3). My older son, who has been on the Acro-twigs course twice before, did the Monkey Moves course, suitable from 7 years of age, for the first time. He was challenged by the course but absolutely loved it and after gaining his confidence on the first round, breezed through the next round.
There are 3 different courses to choose from depending on age and height. The age groups:
Acro-twigs: Age Group 3 to 6 years (Yellow Course)
There are 9 obstacles, including two ziplines on this course and it is a great place for the little ones to learn the ropes while being supervised by their parents and the ever-attentive guides. Parents are able to keep a close eye and a helping hand throughout the course. The highest platform is 1.8m.
On the Acro-twigs course, for the little ones age 3 – 6, you can walk around the course with them if they are feeling a little unsure and guide them through all the instructions that need to be followed for safety. Getting on the zipline can be a little tricky as there are a few things they need to remember so it is good to keep an eye on them. After the first round the confidence increases, once they know what it is all about.
Monkey Moves: Age Group 7 years and up. Min Height: 1.1m
There are 22 obstacles on this course. The course is challenging and ideal for beginners. It tests your ability and agility and as you make your way through a variety of obstacle including moving planks, tarzan swings and a 30m zipline. The highest platform is 7m.
Swinging Tarzan: Age Group 10 years and up. Min Height: 1.4m (Green and Blue Course)
There are 32 obstacles on this course. Be prepared to test your agility and climbing ability to the limits, as you take on this course which offers a far greater challenge, than is first perceived. Obstacles include the Rope Bridge and the Criss-cross Tangle. The highest platform is 8m.
Acrobranch is perfectly safe and the friendly and professional staff are there for you every step of the way. To start you will be fitted with a safety harness, and then there is a safety briefing in the training course area. The process is explained and then you have a trial go to get the hang of it, before you start on the course. Once you start the obstacle course the staff are there to assist, and help remind you what to do if needed. My little guy needed constant reminding to clip on one at time, but this is all in the name of safety which is of course priority.
Acrobranch is the perfect venue for Children’s Birthday Parties, Team Building Events, Year End Functions, School Outings or Bachelor parties.
This is a great, affordable family outing and promotes everything kids need: outdoor activity, gross motor skills development, confidence but most of all fun! And in a stunning location in the Constantia Nek forest, something unique and different for a fun family adventure outing.
